IOM The Netherlands and AENC, a Dutch ICT company focused on digital solutions, donated a collection of IT items to three CD4D educational institutions in Sierra Leone.
The collection included hardware such as laptops, computers and servers which were distributed to Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (MMCET), Institute of Advanced Management and Technology (IAMTECH) and Ernest Bai Koroma University (EBK).
With the organizational help of AbuBakarr Bangura, CEO of M&D Consultancy and CD4D participant, the handover was realized at the SEP StartHub at IAMTECH. Representatives from the universities, IOM Sierra Leone and the Office of Diaspora Affairs were present. The beneficiaries were grateful to the donors and strongly believe to be better equipped to teach their students.
Simultaneously, AbuBakarr Bangura facilitated a study visit of a Dutch educational psychologist to five CD4D institutions in Freetown. Pieter Bon, chairman of the board of the Academy for Sustainable Development, gave a number of public lectures about the UN Sustainable Development Goals in January 2019.
