The sixth edition of the CD4D2 Taskforce Meeting took place on the 18th of October. We welcomed our partners in person at the IOM the Netherlands office in the Hague.
The Taskforce helps oversee project activities, monitors progress and challenges, and adapts the project strategy if necessary. Partners can also update each other about the recent activities of their organizations.
CD4D Ambassador Ayalew Kassahun joined us at the meeting to tell us more about his long-term impact in his country of origin – Ethiopia. Ayalew went to Ethiopia in 2018 as part of a CD4D assignment to train staff members and students at Wollo University. Until this day, he remains in touch with the University. Moreover, he managed to expand his network in Ethiopia, started new projects in his country of origin, and is writing a blog about his activities. According to Ayalew, CD4D provided the opportunity and security for diaspora members to contribute to their countries of origin. In Ayalew’s case, this led to sustainable connections.
We concluded the sixth Taskforce meeting with lunch. We thank our partners for joining the meeting and for their valuable input.
