From 28 October to 4 November, a delegation of four Sierra Leoneans followed a tailor-made package to gain insight into developing entrepreneurship education.
Three of the four members are employees of higher education institutions (MMCET, IAMTECH, CSTC) in Sierra Leone, and one is the Private Sector Manager at the Office of Diaspora Affairs (ODA). The delegation participated in workshops, meetings with a few Dutch universities and entrepreneurship incubators.
One of the workshops at Fontys Center for Entrepreneurship in Eindhoven revolved around student entrepreneurship, while another special event centered on entrepreneurship education in Sierra Leone specifically. The final workshop on social entrepreneurship took place at Nyenrode Business University in Breukelen.
The ODA-representative was also an active panelist during the ‘Diaspora in Action’ Conference and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship. Together, the delegation impressed the guests of the conference, which also gave them the opportunity to build their networks. The study visit was facilitated by IOM The Netherlands and CD4D participant AbuBakarr Bangura.
