Does the project offer an allowance for participants?
The assignments take place on a voluntary basis, which means that participants receive compensation in the form of an allowance to compensate for costs made or time invested. It cannot be considered as a salary.
The precise time investment, and a work plan, is discussed with the candidates and the host institution, after which the exact allowance is determined.
The allowances are only to be transferred to Dutch or EU bank accounts, not on local or any other bank accounts. Allowances are only transferred to the participant’s own bank account, not on third-person accounts.

How does it work in terms of insurance?
The project includes collective travel insurance for participants that conduct physical assignments. This travel insurance is valid during the period specified in the contract that the participant signs with IOM and covers the costs in emergency situations.
The insurance does not cover the costs of regular medical treatment which is why we ask the selected candidates to keep their regular Dutch or EU medical insurance.

Are there other things to keep in mind?
For physical assignments, participants are requested to provide attestations of good conduct (in the Netherlands VOG) before starting their assignments. These can usually be requested at the participant’s municipality, and costs for this will be reimbursed.
