Host Institution: Galaxy Backbone Limited, Abuja, Nigeria
Nasir Suleiman, Acting Group Head, Research Digital Innovation and Skill (RDIS) Department
“The Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy informed me about IOM’s CD4D2 programme. The knowledge transfer component is very interesting for us. My staff for instance assists the Criminal Justice Administration Department of the Ministry of Justice with the development of certain management applications. For this, they require specific training about the storage and management of criminal case records from different Federal Government agencies. They also need to expand their knowledge so they can assist these agencies with web portal development and digital solutions. To create a maximum impact, we have formulated very clear objectives for the assignment, based on identified needs.
I expect the diaspora expert to focus on developing digital solutions to manage the Criminal Justice Administration Department’s crime records system. Also, to help create web portals and digital solutions for all Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The added value of diaspora experts is the exchange of knowledge between local staff and an international expert. The CD4D2 programme seems an excellent way to foster cooperation and collaboration.
