His Excellency Mr Ron Strikker, the new Dutch ambassador to Ghana, paid a courtesy visit to IOM The Hague on 9 February to receive information on the Connecting Diaspora for Development project (CD4D).Ghana is one of the 6 countries of CD4D and aims to be a window for Ghanaian Diaspora experts to contribute to the social and economic development of Ghana. The latter is done through short-term assignments facilitated by IOM. The objectives and the successes of the program were very much known to the Ambassador, since the program also targets Morocco which happens to be the Ambassador’s prior diplomatic posting. The Ambassador was in the Netherlands to attend the Dutch Ambassadors conference, and took the opportunity to reach out to Ghanaian diaspora experts to discuss and explore ways for cooperation. In the photo below the ambassador is being briefed by Clement Adu on the digitalization efforts currently being undertaken at the Korle Bu teaching Hospital in Accra in accordance to the CD4D framework.
