In September 2019 a series of entrepreneurial training sessions took place in collaboration with Zidi. 40 Diaspora entrepreneurs stood ready to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills, finetune their business models on their way to become investor ready. They were incredibly motivated and eager to learn and willing to improve their skills.
A core team of trainers: Fridah Ntarangi and Toon Buddingh taught them about Business Modelling, Entrepreneurial skills, Costing and Pricing, Realistic Planning, Marketing and Sales, Financial Administration, Storytelling and Pitching and more. Experts were invited as guest speakers to discuss design thinking and product development (Juan Orozco and Camilo Gonzalez) and human resources and leadership (Lourdes Lobede).
A pitch event was organized during the last session during which the participants had to present their business idea in 3 minutes to a jury composed of IOM, PUM, FMO, Zidi and representatives from the Ghanaian and Ethiopian Embassy.
The participants showed immense gratitude and appreciation for the quality of the trainings. It also created a great spirit with Ghanaians and Ethiopians intermingling.
