Outreach by Diaspora Organizations

You are here: Home / Newsletters / Newsletter June 2020 / Outreach by Diaspora Organizations

23 June, 2020

Even before the current COVID-19 situation, we relied a great deal on the assistance of our diaspora partner organizations to help us engage the diaspora communities in the Netherlands. Our partner diaspora organizations represent the diaspora in the Netherlands from the 4 CD4D2 focus countries, HIRDA representing the Somali Diaspora, NIDO the Nigerian Diaspora, KEIHAN who are made up of Afghan Diaspora, Kurdistan in Business representing Diaspora from the Kurdistan region of Iraq as well as the country as a whole, as well as OMEK a platform for African Diaspora more generally.

With physical events not currently possible, we had to brainstorm with the diaspora organizations to think of ways to adapt and continue with diaspora outreach. Various communication and outreach channels have been discussed, such as radio, local television, webinars and many more. With further guidance from Georgina Kwakye from ‘Pimp my Village’, the organizations started developing their own outreach plans.

The first events will take place soon. For more information check out our events.
